Challenges:
In order to be able to meet these new demands and optimize its logistics performance, Berry Superfos Bouxwiller led a global retrofit strategy with Körber's supply chain software and automation. The challenges included:
- Installation of a new IT ecosystem to control all the flow of goods
- Full integration of automation components
- Improved inventory and batch tracking
- Simplified connection to technical equipment
Solutions Implemented:
After 20 years of service, the existing WMS / WCS systems as well as the stacker crane had to be modernized to increase and secure the availability rate and thus allow process evolutions. This retrofit was carried out in two stages:
- Installation of the current version of Körber's WMS solution
- Körber's WCS solution for flow control and retrofitting of installations, installation of PLCs and mechanization
