Tackling India’s supply chain challenges: Godrej Group and Körber create joint venture

At Körber, we are always looking to expand our global reach to deliver the best solutions to customers worldwide. For this reason, we have entered a joint venture with Godrej & Boyce (G&B), flagship company of the Godrej Group.

Together, we will support customers in India to conquer supply chain complexities with solutions spanning software to material handling equipment. Godrej & Boyce’s partnership with the Körber Group began in 2015 with Körber acquiring Efacec Handling Solutions, Portugal, the joint venture partner for Godrej at the time, later renamed to Godrej Consoveyo. A pioneer and leader offering automated supply chain solutions to the manufacturing and distribution domain in India, Godrej Consoveyo will now be rebranded as Godrej Körber. The strong brand equity of Godrej and the cutting-edge technology of Körber have consolidated Godrej Körber’s leadership position in the Indian market.

Anil G Verma, Executive Director and President, Godrej & Boyce comments: “As one of India’s oldest and most trusted brands, Godrej has always been dedicated to improving the way we do business. In line with this, we have strengthened our partnership with Körber to bring greater efficiencies to our customers’ supply chain. Through this cooperation, we will harness global technologies and expertise to identify supply chain challenges, turn them into opportunities and enhance customer experiences.”

Naresh Tahiliani, Business Head, Godrej Körber adds: “In India, Godrej has been supporting customers by providing solutions for improving their intralogistics efficiencies for decades. The partnership with Körber will enable us to extend the solutions across the supply chain by integrating the best-in-class technologies available with our partners. With access to all the best practices globally in supply chain processes, we will be able to provide end-to-end automation solutions to our customers and further improve their operating efficiencies. In this way, we hope to serve our Indian customers better, thus securing their trust and strengthen our market leadership.”

Lastly, Dirk Hejnal, CEO, Körber Business Area Supply Chain, concludes: “Over the last few years, we have strategically expanded our supply chain technologies and expertise – empowering customers to deliver upon ever-increasing requirements for speed, convenience and choice. Last year, we united twelve of the world’s top supply chain technology solution providers from around the world under the Körber brand. Together, we are a global supply chain technology powerhouse providing a diverse range of offerings uniquely spanning each step of the supply chain. In many cases, we have already leveraged this unique depth and vision for businesses worldwide. It will also enable Godrej Körber to access global best practices and expertise from Körber from which their customers will benefit.”
